John Reid (bishop)

John Robert Reid (born 15 July 1928) was an assistant bishop in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. He was the Bishop of South Sydney (the Southern Region) from 1972 to 1993.〔(CCSL )〕
Reid was educated at the University of Melbourne and Moore Theological College.〔Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black, 2008, ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 After a curacy in Manly he was the incumbent at Gladesville from 1956 to 1969 when he became Archdeacon of Cumberland,〔Crockford's Clerical Directory1975-76 Lambeth, Church House, 1975 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 his last position before being ordained to the episcopate.
